Linwood Weaver Obituary

Linwood Lorenzo Weaver, affectionately known as ‘Rooster,’ ‘Jug Head,’ ‘Big Head,’ 'Sugar Bear', and ‘Roo Roo,’ entered this world on Tuesday, January 27, 1970, in Emporia, Virginia, to the loving care of Lucinda Bullock Weaver and the late Eddie Lee Weaver.

Educated in the Greensville County Public School System, Linwood graduated from Greensville County High School in the Class of 1988. In 1989, he ventured to Washington, DC, seeking new opportunities and resided with his cousins, the late Danny Branch, Sr. and Veronica Branch. During his time in DC, Linwood held various positions, including roles at the State Department of Justice and BJ Wholesalers.

Linwood was a man who knew no strangers. His infectious smiles and vibrant personality endeared him to many, making him the life of every gathering. In his leisure, he found joy in watching television, with BET as his favorite channel and Law & Order as his preferred show. An unwavering Dallas Cowboys fan, Linwood proudly adorned himself with Dallas memorabilia, declaring, “Win, Lose, or Tie, I’ll Be a Dallas Cowboys Fan Til I Die!”

With Linwood’s passing, a void is left that only the richness of his memory can ll. He is survived by his mother, Lucinda B. Weaver; one sister, Cindy Pearson; two brothers, Eddie Smith (Sharon) and John Weaver, all of Emporia, Virginia. He is also remembered by his uncle, Sterling Weaver (Evelyn) of Portsmouth, Virginia, and two aunts, Evelyn Powell and Magdalene Bullock, both of Emporia, Virginia.

Linwood’s legacy extends to two nephews, Darius Harris of Columbia, South Carolina and Dewayne Delbridge of Atlanta, Georgia; two nieces, Melisha Jones (Marcus) of Ohio and Katrina Lawrence (Calvin) of Emporia, Virginia; four great-nieces, three great-nephews, and a sister-in-law, Loretta Delbridge of Varina, Virginia. Additionally, Linwood is survived by his brothers and sisters-at-heart, Veronica Branch (sons, Danny Jr. and Terrell), Amanda Weaver, Sonya Roots, Renee Bullock, Ella Powell, Howard Spates, Antoinette Carter, Nina Campbell, Angela Porter, Linda Logan and numerous other relatives and countless friends.

As we bid our farewells, we find solace in the thought that Linwood now rests in eternal peace, forever residing in our hearts. He is now reunited with his father, Eddie Lee Weaver, grandparents, great-grandparents, seven uncles, and five aunts, all of whom preceded him in death. May they all enjoy a blessed eternal reunion.
