Airfield 'Bubba' Epps, Jr.

Airfield Epps, Jr., son of the late Airfield Epps, Sr. and Anna Lee Wilkins Epps, was born on Friday, May 14, 1954 in Sussex County, Virginia.

‘Bubba’, as he was fondly called by his loving family and friends, was educated in the Sussex County School System. Early in life, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined First Baptist Church of Jarratt, Virginia. For many years, he worked on the farm, until his health declined. He was an avid fan of Dale Earnhart and watching car races on television.

On Friday, October 21, 2022; our beloved Airfield Epps, Jr. peacefully entered in eternal rest; while in the care of Bon Secours Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Virginia. In addition to his parents, ‘Bubba’ was also preceded in death by: his grandparents, Harrison and Mamie Epps and siblings, Elvira Wilkins, Evelyn E. Epps and Edward Epps.

Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of: three brothers, Bobby C. Epps of Jarratt, Virginia, Larry D. Epps (Shelia) of Emporia, Virginia and Lewis Mallory (Roslyn) of Petersburg, Virginia; five sisters, Gloria J. Mayor (Willie) of Richmond, Virginia, Lorine Epps, Dorothy Epps, Delphine Epps and Patricia D. Epps all of Jarratt, Virginia; one aunt, Earnestine Wilkins; devoted niece, Odell D. Epps (Richard); devoted cousins, Paul Reed, Shirley Reed, Catherine Cole (Warren Sr.), Barbara R. McClendon (Arthur); a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

Relatives and Friends are encouraged to visit Mr. Epps'  tribute wall to share memories, extend condolences and to order floral tributes, as sentiments to the family.
