Andra Tucker, was called home from labor to reward on April 28, 2021. ‘Sister’, as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, was the daughter of the late Lee Andrew Tucker Sr. and Mary Helen Tucker. She was the youngest of three children - Lorenzo Garrett and the late Andrew Tucker Jr. She graduated from Highland Springs High School in 1978. After graduation she attended J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College where she received her nursing Degree. Sister worked in the nursing field for many years before her health began to fail. She was married to the late Pierre Walters Sr. and to that union two sons were born Pierre Walters, Jr. and Andre` Walters. She stayed busy always looking out for others and raising her family. She took joy in raising several foster children in her home and seeing them spread their wings and move out into the world.
She loved attending her church, Faith Landmark, visiting with family and friends and keeping up with everyone on Facebook.
She was loved dearly by so many due to her contagious smile, beautiful spirit and unwavering faith. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her two sons, Pierre Jr. and Andre`; her brother, Lorenzo Garrett (Charmaine) of West Baltimore, Maryland; two uncles and six aunts: Melvin Tucker (Marie) of Emporia, Virginia, Clinton Tucker (Mary) of Huntington, New York, Susie Hite and Esther Scott both of Richmond, Virginia, Maggie Wright, Lucy Davis and Alice Moore (Eddie) all of Emporia, Virginia, Almeda Roberts of Staten Island, New York; a loving and best friend of more than 20 years, Cynthia Taylor of Richmond, Virginia. Cynthia and ‘Sister’ were inseparable, like Thelma and Louise.
She may be gone but she will never be forgotten. We will always remember her beautiful smile that would light up any room she entered.
