On January 12, 1987, the heavens blessed this earth with the presence of Andrew Deshawn Moody, as he was born to the parentage of Claudette Moody and the late Andrew Hicks in Emporia, Virginia. Early in life Andrew received his formal education in the Northampton County Schools System after moving to Gaston, North Carolina.
As life progressed, Andrew grew and matured into a very loving person who was known to many by his affection, genuine love, infectious smile and heart of gold. His smile was one that could easily brighten anyone’s day.
Later in life, he met and married the love of his life Tiara Moody. His favorite pastime was spending time with his wife, kids and family. In an effort to help provide for his family he became gainfully employed with Amazon in Chester, Virginia.
Andrew was full of life; nothing showed his love for living more than him watching and cheering on his favorite football team - GO COWBOYS!!! He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan whose heart truly pumped that Cowboys’ blue and silver through his veins (Cowboy Nation). Not only a fan of football, but he was also a country boy at heart who enjoyed fishing and being the “HEARTBEAT” of the party.
Life is but a stopping place, A pause in what’s to be, A resting place along the road, to sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, Different paths along the way, We all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay… Our destination is a place, Far greater than we know. For some the journey is quicker, For some the journey’s slow. And when the journey finally ends, We’ll claim a great reward, And find an everlasting peace, Together with the lord. On Wednesday, September 15, 2021, God in His infinite wisdom, lifted our dear loved one from this world of sin, sorrow and pain, to a place of eternal rest. Don’t worry family, for he is not alone. Andrew now reunites with a host of relatives and friends who have preceded him in death.
Our family is a circle of strength and love; with every birth and every union, the circle of love grows - every trial faced together makes the circle grow stronger. We who remain struck by the bitter pain of death, but are assured by the promise of God; that He would wipe all tears from our eyes are: his wife, Tiara Moody; seven children, Amariah Moody, Amiyah Moody, Azuri Moody, Azari Moody, Andrew Moody, Jr., Teahjhe Johnson and Ta’Shyiah Walker; his mother, Claudette Moody (David Bras); four sisters, Tasha Moody, Crystal Moody, Jazmine Moody and Jalisa Bras; one brother, David Bras, Jr.; mother-in-law, Cyrethia Stith; father-in-law, James Johnson; two aunts, Earline Hicks and Alma Lee; three uncles, Larry Hicks (Yon), Dennis Hicks (Michelle) and Michael Hicks; nine great-aunts, Alma Simmons, Lorrine Robinson, Shirley Young, Daisy Scott, Areatha Ross, Argie Banks, Mary Adams, Louise Banks and Margaret Adams; three great uncles, Hubert Hicks, Howard Hicks and William Young; in-laws, Asia Johnson, Demetria Johnson, Octavia Hines, Ja’Mes Johnson, Jameshia Johnson and Arnell Scott, Jr.; a special shout out to Quan; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
