Angela Denise (Taylor) Cox

     Angela Denise Taylor Cox, age 64, of Emporia, Virginia and native of Portsmouth, Virginia, gained her wings on Tuesday, December 13, 2022; while in the serenity of her home.  

     Angela was born on Friday, December 5, 1958 in Virginia, Virginia to Letha Mae Dowdy Taylor and the late Robert Lee Taylor, Sr.   In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Tony and Robert Lee Taylor, Jr.  

     Angela graduated from I. C. Norcom High School in Portsmouth, Virginia.  After graduating, she married Perry Cox on December 5, 1980.  She remained in Portsmouth and entered the healthcare, food service and retail industries.   No matter the industry, Angela enjoyed serving others through love and laughter.  But what she loved most, was caring for her family. Despite her own health challenges, Angela was a caretaker for her mother for many years.  

     Angela's faith in God was never ending and was cultivated in her youth at the Guiding Light Apostolic Church of Christ.  As a adult, she also attended the Christian Antioch Church in Christ.  An expression of her faith until her last breath was. "God got me, I have no worries."

     She leaves to cherish her memories:  her beloved mother, Letha Mae; her sisters, Shirley Joann, Dorothy and Cynthia; her brother, Joe Lee (Joseph); her aunt, Mary Frances and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  

Relatives and Friends are encouraged to visit Mrs. Cox's tribute wall to share memories, extend condolences and to order floral tributes, as sentiments to the family.
