Autumn's Journey...
Don’t think of her as gone away her journey’s just begun, life holds so many facets this earth is only one. Just think of her as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how she must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched…for nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much.
It all began one chilly November day, that life was bestowed upon Autumn Jewel Savoy, a precious life that was entrusted to the capable hands and care of Antonio Xavier Savoy and Kim Denise Frazier Savoy. At an early age, Autumn accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at the Life Christian Center of Clinton, Maryland. It was there that her love for God was strengthened and spiritual gifts nurtured.
As life progressed, Autumn grew and matured into a very humble, sweet, loving and tenderhearted young lady. She was considered to have a pleasant demeanor and sweet spirit which was displayed through her caring heart, that exemplified true love for others - especially family and friends.
Autumn was truly cherished by her mom and dad. As an only child, she was considered the Queen of the house and the light of her family. Oftentimes you would find her dad referring to her as “Scoop” and her mom calling her “Angel Face” - oh how they loved her! She meant the world to them and also to TiTi (Glenda).
In 2019, Autumn graduated from the Gwynn Park High School in Brandywine, Maryland. Her educational journey led her to pursue a degree and become licensed in cosmetology. Prior to completion of high school, she received her cosmetology license. As an avid student, Autumn completed this program in two years and most notably, she was one of three students in her class (out of 16 participants) that passed both the written and practical portions to receive her license. Realizing that “knowledge is power”, she decided to further her education in the field of dentistry. She did so by attending the College of Southern Maryland, where she completed two semesters.
Autumn’s love was not just limited to her family and education, but it also extended to her community. Her passion for volunteering was impeccable, as she assisted the Chris’ Daycare Center in Fort Washington, Maryland where she helped the children and youth. She pursued a career in cosmetology by becoming employed with Nahla's Beauty Salon, where she worked, assisted with the business and furthered her passion for cosmetology.
Autumn used the arts to express herself - be it through arts and crafts, or her love of beauty and make-up, she enjoyed every second of it. She utilized the knowledge of this license to really express herself through the creation of wigs, nail art and the application of make-up. In addition to pursuing a career in dentistry, Autumn had a desire to create a make-up line to further share her love of art and beauty. Autumn was truly devoted and loyal to each of her friends. She was the voice of reason for each of them and her love for them was unbreakable - her time, energy and resources were shared with them, as she made it her business to help take care of them. Tony and Kim would truly like to thank Cameron Michael Jones, Wendy Elana Castro, Daechon Jamese Augburn, Kyleron Butler, Adrian Turner, Kayla Joi Lawrence for their love, compassion and devotion toward Autumn.
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted…All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.” On Wednesday, July 3, 2020; Autumn crossed over into a brand new season - one season where there is no more crying, no more weeping and all troubles gone, a season where there is joy forever more. She is now reunited with those who have preceded her in death.
It’s sometimes hard to understand why these things have to be. Our sad hearts seek the answer, but it's not for us to see we can only trust in God and know that in some way, It’s all a part of His great plan, we’ll understand someday. Memories are treasures no one can steal, death is the heartache nothing can heal. Some may forget you now that you are gone, but we who remain shall remember you no matter how long as we pass her to God’s keeping and care are: loving parents, Antonio Xavier Savoy and Kim Denise Frazier Savoy of Brandywine, Maryland; maternal grandparents, Glendale ‘Papa’ and Mae ‘Big Mama’ Frazier of Garner, North Carolina; paternal grandparents, Maio Savoy of Washington, District of Columbia, Albert Savoy, Jr. (deceased); aunts, Glenda Fraizer Sampson (Curtis) of Knightdale, North Carolina, Tasha Savoy of Washington, District of Columbia, LaKeshia Greene (David) of Alexandria, Virginia; uncle, Melvin Jenkins, Jr. of Washington, District of Columbia; special cousin, Sophia Alona Squire of Garner, North Carolina; a host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
