“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven;
A time to be born and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
a time to kill and a time to heal; a time to break down and a time to build up”
~ Ecclesiastes 31:1-3
Carroll Thomas Taylor, was born in Sussex County, Virginia on Monday, May 8, 1933 to the parentage of the late Jessie Taylor and Margaret Seaborn.
‘Moody’ or ‘Kodak’, as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, loved life and had a huge personality. For a number of years, he was employed with the Virginia Department of Transportation, until his retirement.
“After the clouds, the sunshine; after the winter, the spring; After the shower, the rainbow; for life is a changeable thing. After the night, the morning, bidding all darkness cease, After life’s cares and sorrows, the comfort and sweetness of peace.” On Friday, August 11, 2023; while at the home of his oldest son and daughter-in-law, in Emporia, Virginia, Carroll, peacefully transitioned from this earthly life unto life eternal. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his only brother, Daniel.
Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of: three sons, Jeffery Taylor (Rose) of Emporia, Virginia, James Cooper of Petersburg, Virginia and Jesse Cooper of Hampton, Virginia; two daughters, Carolyn Taylor-Harroo of Franklin, Virginia and Christina Cooper of Portsmouth, Virginia; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; a very dear cousin and brother-at-heart, Floyd ‘Snooki’; Richard Jones, a dear and personal friend; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
I am in Heaven, dear ones, All’s so happy, all’s so bright!
There’s perfect joy and beauty In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over, Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever, Safely home in Heaven at last.
And He came Himself to meet me In that way so hard to tread:
And with Jesus’ arm to lean on Could I have one doubt or dread.
