Celestee Spence Davis went home to our Lord, May 8, 2015, peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family at the Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia. She was born in Greensville County, VA to the late Jessie and Fannie Washington Spence. Se accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Macedonia Baptist Church. Celestee's home was in Portsmouth, VA until she moved to Newport News, VA to be close to her daughters. She graduated from Virginia State College. She retired as a school teacher from the City of Portsmouth Public School after 30 years. Celestee's passion was writing children short stories, one of which was published. She loved to cook and open her house to family - wonderful gatherings. Her source of inspiration was caring deeply for the well being of family and friends.
