CHARLES REED REAVIS was born October 22, 1947 in Brunswick County, Virginia to Alice Eloise James Reavis and the late William Irving Reavis, Sr. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Irving Reavis, Jr. Charles left us after an extended illness at Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Charles was baptized at an early age and joined Poplar Mount Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, VA. When asked by his cousin about being baptized he replied, "I have someone I need to beat up first." He graduated from Edward W. Wyatt High School in 1966. After graduating he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served from December 1966 until December 1968. After receiving an honorable discharge he worked as a roofer for many years in Washington, DC. Charles loved animals, nature and let's not forget the Baltimore Ravens. He leaves to cherish his loving memories his loving mother, Alice James Reavis of Emporia, VA; one daughter, Denise Smith of Baltimore, MD; one son, Charles Page of Greenville, SC; one granddaughter, Deniesha Dingle; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Deborah Reavis Scott and brother-in-law, William Scott of Glenn Allen, VA. He is also survived by three aunts, Doris Donalson, Mary Hood and Minnie Reavis; one uncle, Calvin Jones. Charles also leaves many caring nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His nephew, Ameer's first words were "Charles." Charles loved his family and friends and would help anyone in anyway he could.
