Cleo C. Adams, daughter of the late Cleveland Cain and Celeste Parham Green, was born on Monday, April 24, 1950 in Greensville County, Virginia.
Early in life, Cleo accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united in Christian Fellowship with the Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Emporia, Virginia. She was educated in the Greensville County Public School System and during her young adult years; she obtained her Graduate Equivalency Degree.

She was employed with Craddock & Terry of Lawrenceville, Virginia, Dixie Motel and Fair Choice of Emporia, Virginia and for 28 years with Southampton Textile, where she retired and began working as a Custodian at the Greensville County Courthouse for 16 years before retiring due to medical reasons.

As a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Cleo was lovingly called ‘Nan Nan’. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She embraced the natural beauty of the world and had a strong passion for helping anyone she could. Cleo possessed strength, tenacity and a smile sure to brighten anyone’s day. She was also one to never complain. In her spare time, she found great joy in watching Westerns and Soap Operas.
On Thursday, December 30, 2021; while in the care of Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center, Emporia, Virginia; God plucked a beautiful flower to add to his heavenly bouquet. Legacy of Love
A wife, a mother, a grandma too, This is the legacy we have from you.
You taught us love and how to fight, You gave us strength, you gave us might.
A stronger person would be hard to find, And in your heart, you were always kind.
You fought for us all in one way or another, Not just as a wife, not just as a mother.
For all of us you gave your best, Now the time has come for you to rest.
So go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep, Your love in our hearts, we’ll eternally keep.
