Cynthia Hope Stewart Williams, born December 28, 1952, in Emporia, Virginia, to the late Samuel Stewart and Mary Elizabeth Scott Stewart, passed away surrounded by love. Cynthia, a proud 1971 graduate of Greensville County High School, married the late Leon Edwin Williams in the same weekend she completed her high school education. Together, they raised three sons: Eric, Terrence (Terry), and Antwan. Cynthia's role as a devoted wife and mother was central to her family's life, often described as the essential force that kept their lives running smoothly.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her husband Leon, son Terry, her siblings Marion, Gregory, and Reginald, her parents Samuel and Elizabeth, as well as her nephew Donnell and niece Edith.
Throughout her career, Cynthia held various positions but found her true calling at the United States Postal Service, where she dedicated 23 years of service. Starting as a mail carrier, she delighted in sharing anecdotes about her experiences with dogs of all sizes and shapes before transitioning to the role of clerk.
Upon retiring, Cynthia discovered her ideal haven in Murfreesboro, North Carolina, where she became an active member of the Woodland congregation and cherished her time at the pioneer service school in 2015.
Baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on December 1, 1973, in a warm, heated pool at Bethel, Cynthia's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She had a deep love for Jehovah, profound respect for His servants, and a special admiration for her sister Jackie, whom she credited with taking care of her since she was six years old.
Cynthia was known for her warmth and generosity, often opening her heart and home to family and friends alike. Her humor and kindness left a lasting impression, and she had a remarkable ability to make others laugh with her comedic flair.
While Cynthia's absence will be deeply felt, her legacy lives on through cherished memories. She is survived by her sons Eric of Murfreesboro, NC, and Antwan of Central Valley, NY; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five siblings: Harold (Buddy) Stewart (Peggy) of Garysburg, NC, Jacqueline Edwards of Murfreesboro, NC, Beverly Brown of Newport News, VA, Ronnie Robinson (Denice) of Emporia, VA, and Terry Robinson (Areatha); 11 nephews; 20 nieces; and a devoted niece, Wanda Richardson. Additionally, she leaves behind many great-nieces, great-nephews, and two cousins. Cynthia also had close relationships with her foster sisters Sharon Moore and Theresa Donaldson of Newport News, VA, as well as with Christina Williams of Brooklyn, NY, Amanda Ross of Suffolk, VA, Carolyn Spiers of Murfreesboro, NC, Rosita Harvey of Atlanta, GA, and Jacqueline Bosch of New Kent County, VA.
Cynthia will be dearly and forever missed by all whose lives she touched.
