Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
~Proverbs 3:5-6
On Thursday, May 24, 1928, Bud and Ida Baker Robinson were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Daisy Mae Robinson Miles, in Emporia, Virginia. While growing up in the Robinson residence, Daisy had seven brothers and one sister, and attended Dahlia School in Greensville County, where she completed the 7th Grade.
As life progressed, Daisy matured into a sweet and compassionate young lady who had a great fashion sense. She later met and married the love of her life, Patterson Nathan Miles, Sr. in February 1945. This union was blessed with one son, Patterson Nathan Miles, Jr., who went home to be with the Lord on December 25, 2010. Daisy loved her family immensely and would do whatever she could to help them.
Daisy took care of her husband, son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, extended family members and friends. She will be remembered for her kindness, fierce devotion, love and protection of her family. She had a very special bond with her sister, Molly Garris; cousin, Goldinia Robinson and sister-in-law, Gladys Robinson, for whom she expressed her sincere love for. She also expressed her love for God, as an active member of the Diamond Grove Baptist Church, Skippers, Virginia.
Daisy was a woman of faith and a woman of family, but also a woman of fun, as many of her favorite pastimes included fishing, sewing and cooking - all who partook of her tasty dishes can attest that they tempted their palates.
On Thursday, August 20, 2020; while in the care of Vidant Edgecombe Hospital, Tarboro, North Carolina, our dear loved one peacefully entered into eternal slumber. As she transitioned from our care and into God’s Keeping. She now resides safe in the arms of Jesus and we can hear her spirit utter these words: “Don’t cry for me, I’m not gone. My soul is at rest, my heart lives on, Light a candle for me to see and hold on to my memory, but save your tears for I’m still here by your side through the years.” She is now reunited with those who preceded her in death.
Daisy leaves to cherish her memories: her sister, Molly Garris; grandchildren, Maurice Miles, Kandece Williams (Duane) and Patricia Odom (Ricky); great-grandchildren, Detron Smith, Laricesa Miles, Alazjha Odom, Kristin Williams, DaVaughn “Eli” Odom, Kaelyn Williams, Joshua Odom, Kamryn Williams, Nicholas Odom and Lorenzo William, daughter-in-law, Mamie Miles; sisters-in-law, Gladys Robinson and Edna Lee Hardy; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
