Yea thou I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table for me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
- Psalms 23: 4-6
Darius Ephrain Tuell, the youngest of six children, was born to the parentage of the late Therman C. Newson and Fannie T. Smith on Wednesday, January 30, 1974.
Darius was educated in the Greensville County Public School System. He loved his family dearly and was completely devoted to his daughters and grandchildren. There was seldom an occasion when Darius looked at you without a beautifully sparkling smile of encouragement and you would likely hear him express “Hey niecey” or “Hey nephew”. He was especially encouraging to younger ones, particularly his younger family members.
As a youngster, Darius was affectionately called, ‘Snake Doctor”, by his father. His hometown loved him too, as older ones fondly called Darius and his two brothers, “Larry, Curly and Moe!” Darius grew into manhood as a hard worker, often enthusiastically working multiple jobs at one time. No matter where he resided, his heart was always in his hometown of Emporia, where he settled for a while as an employee of Georgia Pacific.
Darius departed this earthly life on Monday, July 25, 2022. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Markiya Dickson.
Darius leaves not to mourn his passing, but to cherish many fond memories: two daughters, Courtney Pair of Emporia, Virginia and TaShay Bullock of Spartansburg, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Dazman Cain, Jr. Unique Pair, Ce’yoni Brown, Nyiah Bullock and King Miller; three brothers and two sisters, LTC Retired Jeronald M. Tuell (Dawnne) of Midlothian, Texas, Cheryl Dickson (Preston), Tawney Rawlings (Bruce) and Brian Tuell all of Richmond, Virginia and Darian Tuell of Knightdale, North Carolina; close cousin, Menyal Tuell (Rufus); close nephew, Dion Tuell; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Relatives and Friends are encouraged to visit Mr. Tuell's tribute wall to share memories, extend condolences and to order floral tributes, as sentiments to the family.
