Diamond Mon'Ae Daniels

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;

On Monday, June 21, 1999, a beautiful soul was born to the loving care of Kitty Taylor (Barry N. Taylor, Sr.) and Dale Daniels.

Diamond grew and developed into a sweet and compassionate young lady, who met no stranger! Everyone knew Diamond by her angelic and infectious smile that could easily brighten anyone’s day. Her smile was accompanied by a warm and bubbly personality along with a great fashion sense of her own. She was a beautiful person both internally and externally, who had an unconditional love for her family and friends. She was a sweet spirit who possessed a thankful heart for the things God gave her whether big or small.To know her was to love her and she was known by many throughout! 

One of Diamond’s endearing traits was that she truly cherished her family and friends. She was so compassionate and selfless, devoting much of her time, energy, and resources to help care for her family, church family, and friends.  Always one to speak the truth to them and they often thought of her to be “Big Mama” as she would give her straight forward advice. Wanting to make a difference in the world. Her life impacted the lives of all of those that she came into contact with - especially friends, peers, coaches and teachers. 

At an early age, Diamond accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and savior at the Roanoke Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Jackson, North Carolina. Her love and passion for God was deepened In 2014, she joined the Powerhouse Revival Center of Jarratt, Virginia. Diamond was a faithful member of this church and you could often find her singing in the choir, participating in church activities and serving wherever she was needed. Not only was the church edified by her singing but through her simplistic nature and willingness to serve. Diamond’s ultimate desire was to please God, draw closer to him and have a true relationship with him. While on her spiritual journey you could see the love of the Lord shining through her.

Diamond was educated in the in Greensville County School System and graduated from Greensville County High School. Her educational journey took her to the Governor's School of Southside Virginia Community College, where she received an Associate’s Degree in general studies first, then her high school diploma. Upon completion she sojourned to the infamous University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill., where she continued with her educational studies. Education was near and dear to her heart and as an upcoming junior, Diamond pursued a double major in Psychology and Exercise & Sports Science. Diamond’s desire to obtain this goal was coupled with her opportunity to shadow the Rehabilitation Service Department of Southampton Memorial Hospital, in hopes of one day becoming a doctor of physical therapy. As a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she became a vital part of “Ram Nation” by involving herself in the life of the school, most notably the liberal arts by joining and signing in college gospel. Diamond was a hard worker who gave best at everything she did. 

Embracing the natural beauty of the world was Diamonds focus, she had a strong passion for self-love and self-beauty as she worked towards opening her own business to offer her self-created facial and hair products. Her plans to establish her businesses were detailed and flawless as she established herself as an entrepreneur.  Not only was she an entrepreneur, but ‘Pumpkin’, as she was fondly called, entered the workforce as a sales clerk of Belk, Franklin, Virginia. Her employment was not viewed as mere work, but as a place where she could be herself and embrace those around her with love. She loved to bring smiles and joy to those around her.

Affectionately called ‘Sunshine”, Diamond enjoyed serving others, fishing, dance, writing, painting, and exercising. It was evident in the way that she tried new things, played with children, and bonded with family. She enjoyed playing volleyball, but had a life-long passion for softball. 

This young ‘African Queen’ though humble, meek and graceful embodied the words of Paul in 1 Peter 2:9, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light...” and on Sunday July 7, 2019, as the sun began to beam it’s light upon a new day; God in His infinite wisdom, dispatched one of His angels to escort Diamond Mon’Ae Daniels into His marvelous light. She now joins her uncle, Christopher Bernard Rawls who preceded her in death.

Treasured memories of love will forever be bound within our hearts as we pass her to God’s keeping and care: loving parents, Kitty Taylor (Barry) of Capron Virginia and Dale Daniels of Emporia, Virginia; devoted sisters, D’Jsha Daniels of Littleton, North Carolina and Christianna Williams of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; sisters at heart, Brandie Taylor of Norfolk, Virginia and Kandie Taylor of Capron, Virginia and brothers at heart, Barry N. Taylor, Jr. (Jasmine) of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Isaiah Taylor of Capron, Virginia; grandmothers, Alice ‘Patsey’ Smith and Queen Daniels both of Emporia, Virginia; grandfathers, Dale ‘Pop’ Daniels and Bernard Hicks (Sally); aunts, Michelle Hicks and Remonica Banks (Calvin) both of Emporia, Virginia and Crystal Wilson (Tim) of Richmond, Virginia; great-great aunt Essie Wright (Johnnie) and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Diamond will forever be remembered for her unwavering generosity, deep wisdom,

sharp wit, and constant strength in the face of adversity.
