Mrs. Doretha R. Mabrey Poke, 89 of Emporia, Virginia, peacefully transitioned from this earthly life on Wednesday, December 18, 2019; while in the care of Emporia Manor, Emporia, Virginia.
Doretha began her journey through life on Sunday, June 22, 1930, in Emporia, Virginia. She was born to the parentage of the late Lee and Helena Moore Mabrey. For many years she worked as a domestic and child care provider.
Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of: son, Jerry Ridley; grandsons, Pete and Tim; siblings, Junious Mabrey (Carolyn), Lloyd Mabrey (Shirley) and Ruth Edwards all of Emporia, Virginia and Evelina Mabrey of Iowa; a host nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is now reunited with: her husband, Al Poke and daughter, Dorothy Ridley, whom preceded her in death.
