Ersie Jane Robinson, began her journey through life on Tuesday, August 5, 1919, in Greensville County, Virginia. She was the second of eight children born to the parentage of the late Charlie and Estella Woodley Robinson.
Jane or 'Dye' as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, was educated in the Greensville County Public School System. Being reared in a Christian home, where not only was the word of the Lord taught, but lived; she very early in life, accepted Christ as her Lord and Savoir and joined the Antioch Baptist Church of Skippers, Virginia. During her many blessed years of being on the battlefield for the Lord, Ersie served faithfully on the Usher's Ministry of the church.
On Tuesday, December 1, 2020, while in the serenity of her home, our dear loved one gained her wings - she received two wings to veil her face, two wings to veil her feet and two wings to fly away, so that the world can do her no harm. As she transitioned from our care and into God's Keeping, she now resides safe in the arms of Jesus and we can hear her spirit utter these words: "Don't cry for me, I'm not gone. My soul is at rest, my heart lives on. Light a candle for me to see and hold on my memory, but save your tears for I'm still here by your side through the years." Our matriarch is now heavenly reunited with her parents, siblings and all those relatives who have gone on before her.
We who are bound by many lifelong lessons, sweet memories, and significant values are: her nine children, Mary L. Hicks of Richmond, Virginia, Deloris Taylor of Emporia, Virginia, Sylvia Jean Hill (Samuel) and Alexander Robinson (Carolyn) both of Richmond, Virginia, George Robinson (Althea) of Fort Washington, Maryland, Willie Robinson of Richmond, Virginia, MacArthur Robinson (Wanda) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Joanna Person and Dewayne Robinson (Phyllis) all of Emporia, Virginia; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
