Felicia Shunte Rook Brown, affectionately known as ‘Felee’, was born on Tuesday, January 16th, 1968, in Emporia, Virginia, to the late Paul Robinson and Kathleen Rook Tyler.
Felicia was baptized at an early age and became a member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church. She graduated from Greensville County High School and pursued her passion for cooking by attending culinary school.
Felicia cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. She had a profound love for cooking, especially for Sunday dinners, cookouts, and birthday celebrations. She was renowned for her mac & cheese and pasta salad. Felicia also enjoyed dancing and creating joyous moments.
On Sunday, July 7th, 2024, at Southside Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family, Felicia peacefully departed this earthly life. She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen; her father, Paul; her great-grandmothers, Harriet Hicks and Lula Powell Rook; her uncle, Bernard Thomas; great uncles, Earnest Rook Jr., Persel Rook, and Benjamin Rook and great-aunts, Mariah ‘Sis’ Moody and Eloise Moody.
Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of: her grandmother, Pearline Rook; daughters, Tiffany Rook and Tiariah Eason; son, Malek Eason; stepfather, Carol Tyler; sister, Veronica Robinson (Milton); brother, Corey Rook (Tuanita); grandchildren, Darian Day, Layla Sledge, Levi Terry, and Tyler Peterson; nephews, Brandon, Bryant Rook, Jason Rook, Thomas Fields, Kishiyon Walker, and Tuajhon Bonner; nieces, Tiana Cooke, Natasha Robinson, Markiesha Omoyma (Andre) and Tulani Bonner; great-nephew and nieces, K’vion Hawkins, Malayshus Hawkins, Kimora Hodo, Mariah Rook, Kayden Rook, Destiny Rook, Kingston Carpenter, D’Morris Blackwell, Luna Fields, Samiyah Moger, and Carter Omoyoma; great-aunts, Dorothy Hicks, Ollie Hicks and Carolyn Carter (Solomon); great-uncles, Robert Hicks, John Hicks, and Waverly Hicks; aunts, Paulette Hicks-Cain (Nathan Jr.) and Vicki Hicks; uncles, Alphonso Hicks (Amy) and Zachary Hicks of Honolulu, Hawaii; devoted godmother, Mary Powell (Rev. Rudell Powell); god sisters, Tina Young-Wilks (James) and Jessica Bagby (Jason); god brother, Reinaldo Young; cousins, Jackie Simmons, Lula M. Webb, and a host of other relatives and friends.
As we bid a final farewell to Felicia, let us find solace in knowing she is at peace. Let us also celebrate the vibrant life she lived and the love she shared with all who knew her.
