Ferlanda Williams Obituary

Memories are treasures no one can steal. Death is the heartache nothing can heal. Some

may forget you now that you are gone, But we shall remember you no matter how long.

Ferlanda ‘Lan’ Morris Williams , our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 13th, 2024. Born on Monday, July 20th, 1953, in Greensville County, Virginia, to the late James C. Williams, Sr. and Bernice L. Williams, Ferlanda was the tenth of eleven children. He is preceded in death by one sister, Beverly Sykes, and five brothers: Joseph Sr., Russell Sr., James Jr., Leon, and Roy Sr.

Early in life, Ferlanda accepted Christ and was baptized at Claresville Baptist Church in Emporia, Virginia. He graduated from Greensville County High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force, later serving in the Virginia Air National Guard. After several years of dedicated service, he retired and pursued a career at General Electric in Richmond, Virginia. Ferlanda also became a certified electrician, studying at electrical school and affiliating himself with IBEW Local Union 666.

He leaves behind many cherished memories with his son, Anthony Cook; three grandchildren, Anfernee Cook, Sr., Issac A. Cook and Isaiah D. Cook; one great-grandson, Anfernee Cook, Jr.; three sisters, Magnolia D. Waller, Bernell Jones and Darryl McCown; one brother, Arthur Williams, Sr.; three sisters-in-law: Rose Williams, Mary Williams and Gloria Williams; one brother-in-law, McCoy Sykes; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Rest in peace, Lan. Your memory will remain with us forever.
