Gletis M. Walton

Gletis Mejet Walton was born on December 14, 1955 to the late Otis and Virginia Coker Butts in Emporia, Virginia. She was called to her eternal rest on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 in her home in Emporia, VA. Gletis was educated in the public schools of Greensville County, VA. She was a very kind and loving person, who enjoyed spending time with her family-especially her husband and children. Gletis was very well known in the community and always opened her doors to everyone.
Gletis became mother of Eric Butts and Shelton Jones. She met her soulmate, David Lee Walton in 1976 in Emporia, VA to their union Chris Walton and Kendra Walton were born. Gletis and David were united in marriage on August 5, 1993.
Gletis leaves to cherish in memory her devoted husband, David Lee Walton; her children Eric Butts (Malissa) Shelton Jones, Chris Walton and Kendra Walton all of Emporia, VA; one brother, Floyd Butts (Janette) of Seaboard, NC one granddaughter, Shardell Walton; In-laws,, Rosa Sinclair, Betty Clark, Mary Sue Bynum (Ricky), Debra Walton, Joyce Powell (Richard) and George Walton (Roselyn); her aunts, Sue Buffalo, and Shirley Butts; uncle, Joe Lewis Butts; several nieces and nephews included a devoted, Belinda Jenkins, cousins, and friends.
Gletis was preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas Butts, Otis Earl Butts, Hazel Mae Weaver and Dozene Turner; her in-laws, George Walton, Sara Walton, Jefferson Walton, , Clarence Walton and Shirley Thomas
