GRACE ELIZABETH ROBINSON PATRON was born on Thursday, July 12, 1956 in Emporia, Virginia to the parentage of Evelyn Sykes Hawkins and the late William Daniel Robinson. She was educated in the Greensville County School System, Chesterfield County School System and Bellevue, Nebraska. After graduating from high school, Grace attended the University of Nebraska in Omaha, Nebraska.
After moving back to Virginia, Grace found work as an office assistant, secretary, purchaser and SIS Operator with the Richmond Public Schools, where she was employed for 30 years. She was an efficient, dedicated worker, with a strong work ethic. Richmond Public Schools afforded her the opportunity to be an expert with general office operations, purchasing, customer service and student discipline. (In honor of Grace’s years of dedicated service, Huguenot High School will be closed on Friday, September 9, 2022.)
Grace met and married the love of her life, Robert ’Rob’ Anthony Patron of Manchester, England. This was a beautiful union of love. They were known as “Love Birds” with their blended family.
Grace loved gardening and together she and ‘Rob’ had a well-manicured lawn with beautiful flowers. They had fun together, spending quality time with friends and dancing.
Honoring Grace’s memory are: husband, Robert A. Patron; her mother, Evelyn Hawkins and her “Daddy Ben”, Benjamin R. Hawkins; two sons, John Branche and William J. Sometimes it’s hard to understand why certain things must be,
But there is a reason for it all, beyond our power to see.
The reason is hidden somewhere in the pattern God has planned,
We must believe and trust Him and someday we’ll understand.
In the pattern God has planned, We must believe and trust Him.
And someday we will understand.
