Harriet M. Thomas Green was born on May 7, 1948, in emporia, Virginia, to the late Clarence and Larrine Thomas. She entered into eternal healing at the Symphony Manor of Richmond Assisted Living and & Memory Care, on Thursday July 21, 2016. At an early age, she joined Claresville Baptist Church. While in Maryland, she attended Friendship Baptist Church.
She received her education in Emporia, VA. After graduating from E.W. Wyatt High School in 1966, Harriet moved to Baltimore, MD, to start her career with the Federal Government where she retired with 30 years of service. She received numerous outstanding service awards for her dedication.
Harriet had many talents. For example, first and foremost, she loved music and was an excellent swing dancer. She was a people person gifted with the ability to mediate both on her job, as well as her personal life. She loved entertaining and often invited friends and family over for a cookout.
Harriet loved her sisters and brothers dearly and continued the importance of a strong family bond. She leaves to cherish her memories, one brother of which preceded her in death, Clarence, Jr. Surviving sisters and brothers include: Olivia Brown (Walter) of Baltimore, MD; Clarine Hines of Emporia, VA, Nathaniel Thomas (Barbara), Julia Lewis, Thermond Thomas (Otelia), and Patricia Trent (John) all of Richmond, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, friends and a devoted friend from high school, Ms. Marva Jo Dunn.
Alzheimer's was a journey for her, her family, and friends. Through it all, Harriet braved this journey with faith, courage, and endurance. She was always "Still Harriet".
