James Lambert Obituary

James Napoleon Lambert, affectionately known to family and friends as "Polian," was born on August 22, 1939, to the late Thomas Edward Lambert and Elnora Cain Cooper. He was educated in the Greensville County Public School System and later proudly served his country in the United States Army.

To know Polian was to love him. He possessed a kind and gentle spirit, a warm heart, and a willingness to help anyone in need. His generosity, compassion, and genuine concern for others left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and loyal friend whose presence brought comfort and joy to many lives.

On May 22, 1976, he was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Mary Lorraine Lambert. Together, they shared a beautiful and enduring marriage that spanned fifty years, built upon love, faith, commitment, and devotion.

Polian was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Tom Lambert, Alfred Blackwell, Mumford Lambert, and Willie "Bill" Lambert; two sisters, Marion Lambert and Nora Pritchford; and a devoted friend of many years, Jake Daniels.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his beloved wife, Mary Lambert; four children, Patricia Smith (Curtis), Tracey Bullock, David Lee Bullock (Felicia), and Carnell Jackson; seven grandchildren, Kurtis Carey, LaQuechia Carey, ShaRonda Carey, Keon Carey, Travonnia Bullock, Traquannia Bullock, and Akira Rhodes; and ten great-grandchildren, Mar'Trail Davis, Shakia Carey, Shakhira Seaborn, Sha'Marj Seaborn, Kari Carey, Kenzi Carey, Kennedi Carey, Kamaya Carey, Taz'Jhir Kee, and Taige Smith.

He also leaves two bonus children whom he lovingly raised, Tabius Stukes and Melvin Stokes; one devoted sister, Lucy Baskerville, with whom he remained especially close; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Squire (Ernest) and Diane White (Alex); three brothers-in-law, Darnell Allen (Hattie), Bobby Allen, and Elvis Allen (Ruth); devoted friends, Ernest Squire and Mackenly Jordan; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Though he has departed this earthly life, the love, wisdom, kindness, and cherished memories he shared will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of compassion and selflessness will continue to inspire generations to come.
