James Edward Taylor was called home to be with the Lord on December 18, 2014 at the University of Virginia Health Center in Charlottesville, VA following a period of declining health, He was born on May 3, 1942 in Richmond, VA to the late Edward and Beulah Maryland Taylor. He was educated in Sussex County Public School system. At an early age James became a member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church in Jarratt, VA. He later moved his membership to 31st Street Baptist Church in Richmond, VA, there he served on the Feeding Ministry, Usher Ministry and he sang on several choirs. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Christine Taylor ; three children, James Taylor of Columbia, SC, Patrick Taylor and Jamil Taylor of Richmond, VA; four brothers, Jerry Taylor (Joeann) of Emporia, VA, Milton Taylor of Jarratt, VA, Henry Taylor and Sylvester Taylor (Ann) both of Richmond, VA; one sister, Bessie Taylor Cooper of Jarratt, VA; six grandchildren, Cyntoria Taylor, LaQuetta Taylor Marble, Marcellus Taylor, LaKisha McRae, Prechus Taylor and Kai Taylor six great grandchildren; two Aunts, Lessie Maryland and Marie Maryland Ross both of Richmond, VA, and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
