JOHN ANDERSON slipped into eternal rest after a lengthy illness on August 17, 2014. John was known as "Juniebug", the baby brother of Willie Mae and Freddie. He often appeared quiet and reserved. He and Freddie were close and often lived together. John was born on October 29, 1939 in Emporia, Virginia to the late Johnny and Gertrude Easter Anderson. His son, John Anderson III; brother, Freddie Anderson and sister, Willie Mae Grant all preceded him in death. He attended Greensville County Public Schools and enlisted in the United States Army, where he served two years. He worked thirty years as a truck driver in New York, retiring after he became ill. In 2003 John moved back to Virginia and resided at Trinity Woods Assistance Living Facility. John leaves to cherish his fond memories: his loving son, Donald Harrison; six grandchildren, Akeisha, Miriam, Niketta, Donald, Jr., Lamont and Shawn; a sister-in-law, Terry Anderson; a brother-in-law, Russell Grant and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
