Kenneth Williams Obituary

Life began for Kenneth ‘Kenny’ Williams on May 8, 1966, in Jarratt, VA. His loving parents were farmers who taught him the value of hard work, respect, honesty, and instilled in him to “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. They were caring people and raised him to be the same.

He was baptized at an early age at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Jarratt, VA. He attended the Sussex County Public Schools system and graduated from Sussex Central High School in 1984. Upon graduating he joined the Virginia National Guard, where he served for 8 years. His professional career included 10 years at Boar’s Head in Jarratt, VA, and several years at both DSC Logistics and Stone Container. He had a strong work ethic, rarely ever called in, rarely ever late. He was very dependable. From 1999 until his passing, he was employed at Norfolk Southern Railhead in Petersburg VA, hauling new cars for companies such as Allied, Jack Cooper, and United Road. He worked for United Road from January 2010 until his untimely passing. He put his heart and soul into Williams Towing and Transport, the company he and his brother literally built together. He was a “Jack of all trades”. He was a hard worker and loved every minute of it! But for the last 7 years of his life, his biggest joy was playing with his grandchildren. He and the grandchildren looked forward to their Saturday visits. He enjoyed going to the annual tractor pulls with his best friend, Randy. But on most days, you could find him in the shop, working on somebody’s car.

Kenny was a true provider to his family and a devoted friend to many. He was a man of few words but had a big heart. He will be missed dearly.

Kenny transitioned to eternal life and peace with his Lord and Savior on  Saturday evening, March 6, 2021.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving daughter, Andrea W. Parham (I’Ric); three precious  grandchildren, Jasmine, I’Ric & Amir Parham; loving mother, Princess B. Williams; brother Charles B. Williams, Sr. (Sabrina); two uncles, Ruben Brown (Shirley) and  Lloyd Brown; two aunts, Nellie Mae Mitchell and Queen Burrell (Aaron); nephew, Charles B. Williams, Jr; niece, Celeste S. Williams; great-niece, Charleigh Williams; loving and devoted companion and friend, Kimberly Stewart; a best friend and brother-at-heart, Randy Hill; two very dear friends, Bernard Prince and James Jones Jr; numerous cousins and friends, whom he loved dearly.

We thank God for the life of Kenny.
