A former varsity football player in both high school and college, Leon remained a passionate fan of professional football and basketball throughout his life. He was known for his enthusiasm in watching and discussing games, always cheering on his favorite teams.

Professionally, Leon built a successful career in retail management, working with several national commercial retail chains, including Walmart. He retired in 2010 after many years of dedicated service.
