LEON EDWIN WILLIAMS, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend entered into eternal rest on September 17, 2014. Leon was born in Greensville County, Virginia on May 26, 1950 to the late James C. Williams, Sr. and the late Bernice L. Williams. He was the eight out of eleven siblings. He was preceded in death by a son, Terrance Lamont; one sister and three brothers also preceded him in death: Beverly Sykes, Joseph, Sr., Russell, Sr. and James, Jr. Early in life, Leon accepted Christ and was baptized at Claresville Baptist church. Shortly after graduating from Edward W. Wyatt High School, he moved to New York City and embarked on his career with the United States Postal Service. He retired after 26 years of service and returned to Virginia where he reconnected with his family and friends. Leon was a gentle spirit with a huge heart and model of love was demonstrated by his many selfless acts towards others. Often with music blasting in the background, generosity was the sound of his life. He enjoyed fellowship with family and friends. His family and friends could always depend on his support and assistance when needed. "Humility is not thinking less of yourself, its thinking of yourself less". He was a survivor who seldom complained about the challenges of life; he made his adjustments and enjoyed life to the fullest while extending a helping hand whenever he could. His example of love and humility will serve as a source of inspiration for years to come. With sincere gratitude to God for his life, he leaves to cherish his loving memories: two children, Eric and Antwan (Dominica); seven grandchildren; Kevin, Nicholas, Terrance, Marquis, Raquil, Sequan and Christian, one great-grandchild; Andrew, three sisters; Deloris Waller, Bernell Jones and Darryl McCown, three brothers; Arthur, Sr. (Rose), Roy and Ferlanda, two sisters-in-law; Gloria Williams and Mary Williams, a host of nieces, nephews and an abundance of other relatives and friends.
