Lillian Wilks Obituary

Lillian Burrow Harris-Wilks was born October 5, 1926 in Brunswick County, VA to the late Howard and Josie Fields Burrow. She departed this life Monday, October 26, 2015 at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center, Mechanicsville, VA. Lillian finished Elementary and High School in Greensville County, VA. She went to Saint Paul's College, Lawrenceville, VA and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She then returned to Greensville County where she taught for thirty five years. She was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church where she served as treasurer for many years. She was also a member of the choir. She was married to Charles A. Harris. After his death she then married Joe Louis Wilks and then moved to Richmond, VA. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; Howard and Josie Burrow, three sisters; Ola Burrow and Eunice Mocklow of New York, and Hazel Daniels of Portsmouth, VA; two brothers, Howard Burrow, Jr. Philadelphia, PA and Jesse Burrow of Emporia, VA. She leaves to cherish her memories; three sisters, Elna Branch, Ernestine Gibbs (Kenneth), Delores McRae all of New York city; two aunts; Virginia Fields Hollis, NY, Ethel Christine Brandwine, PA, ten nieces, five nephews (one special nephew, Michael Burrow, Front Royal, VA); two God sons, Robert C. Andrews, Emporia, VA and Bennie Lane, Richmond, VA; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Gibbs and Joseph Mocklow; four sisters-in-law, Jeanette Burrow, Gladys Murphy (Morris), Catherine Davis and Georgia Parker all of Emporia, VA; avery special family, "The Andrews". A host of other relatives and friends.
