Mara L. Chatman

MARA LINDA CHATMAN, affectionately known to the family as Mara Linda was born October 1, 1942 to the late William and Charlotte Chatman in Emporia, Virginia. There she attended Greensville County Training School and on to Wyatt High School where she graduated in the class of 1961. In her tender years she attended Shiloh Baptist Church behind the post office in Emporia. Upon graduating from high school she followed her dream. She went to New York City, got a job with a law firm and worked as a legal secretary for many years. She wanted to see how people lived on the west coast of the US. She went to California, lived there for a few years, then returned to Emporia to assist her aging father. She leaves to cherish her memories her sister, Carolyn Harris of Bronx, NY; two brothers, William Chatman of Heathrow, FL and Johnny D. Moody of Emporia, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends
