Melvin Oscar Rose was born February 7, 1962, in Emporia, Virginia. He was the youngest child of the late Bobbie Lee Rose, Sr. and Sallie Bea Mason Rose. He received his education from the Greensville County Public School System. Melvin graduated from high school he was excited to learn welding and plumbing. He was later offered a position at Boar's Head Provisions where he worked for 8 years. Melvin later worked at Georgia Pacific for over 15 years. Melvin continued his career at the Dominion Power until his death. Melvin attended Sunday School at Royal Baptist Church as a youth. He late joined Little Shiloh Baptist Church at an early age while alson fellowship at the Claresville Baptist Church with his father. Melvin was hard worker who peacefully departed this life on November 14, 2015 at Dominion Power Work Site. Melvin was loving caring person that would help anyone, his hobbies were fishing, visiting neighborhood friends and playing with kids. Those who celebrate life and thank God for his life is his mother, Sallie Bea Mason Rose, one brother, Bobbie Lee Rose, Jr. of Emporia, VA; two sisters, Pearl Smith (Levonia) of Emporia, VA and Deaconess Joyce Scott (John, who preceded him in death) of Freeman, VA; three nephews, Montelli (Keith) Scott, Joron Scott and Jacoby Hunter (LaWondra); four nieces, Felicia Smith, Tania Andrews (Robert), Rashee Mabry (Brian) and NiAsia Rose; six great nieces; two great nephews; one great great niece; six uncles; six aunts and a host of cousins and friends.
