Nathan Powell

NATHAN "NAY" POWELL was born on June 4, 1948 to the late Luther and Lucy Powell in Brunswick County, Virginia. He departed this life on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Emporia Manor after a brief stay. Nathan was baptized at an early age and joined Rocky Mount Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his couin; Maybelle Harrison. Nathan is survived by his two sisters; Phillis Powell and Valery Powell of the home, two brothers; Rochester Powell of Richmond, VA and Luther Junius Powell of Emporia, VA, one devoted niece; Pamela Brown (Jerry) of Emporia, VA, one devoted nephew; Shawn Powell (Avanti) of Emporia, VA, four aunts; Irene Young, Willie Bea Rawlings (Calvin), Mildred Atkins all of Emporia, VA, Catherine Claiborne (Norman of Richmond, VA, three uncles; Russell Lee (Helen), William Lee, Otis Lee (Bonnie) all of Emporia, VA, two great nephews; Jerry Brown, Jr. and Aushawn Powell, two great nieces; Jada Brown and Kamea Powell, a host of cousin, other relatives and friends. A special thanks was given to his caregiver; Laquitta Brown and Nurse; Julia Lucy.
