Nellie Jane Wilkins

Nellie Jane Brooks was born on September 14, 1937 to the late Elijah and Ida Greene Brooks in Greensville County, VA. At an early age, Nellie accepted Christ as her personal Savior. She joined the Morning Star Baptist Church. She served as a member of the women's circle, assistant clerk, deaconess, mother of the church and senior choir member. She was a member of Jarratt Chapter #185 order of the eastern star. Nellie was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, Leevonie Wilkins on December 25, 2952. This union was bless with four children. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She leaves to cherish in precious memories: her devoted husband, Leevonia Wilkins; her children, Curtis (Linda) Wilkins, Sherman (Terrie)Wilkins, Gloria Wilkins all of Jarratt, VA and Rosemary (Roger) Carson of Emporia, VA; one sister, Hattie (Roosevelt) Lucas; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Marguerite Brooks of New York and Teola Washington of Jarratt, VA, one brother-in-law, June Winfield Wilkins; one aunt, Mary Talley of Richmond, VA, a host of other relatives and friends.
