And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
~ Revelation 21: 4
Octavius VaSean Green, affectionately known as ‘Tay,’ entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 7th, 2024. He was born on Wednesday, September 15th, 1977, in Emporia, Virginia, to the late Nathaniel and Nancy Powell Green. Octavius embraced Christianity and became a member of The House of Mandate Inc. (H.O.M.) in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.
Known as “The Tint Master of Emporia”, Tay found joy in tinting and had a passion for music, both listening to it and setting up sound systems. He dedicated 15 years of his career to FedEx before his health began to decline.
Octavius was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Green, his mother, Nancy Green, and his cherished brother, Darris Green. He leaves behind a cherished legacy embraced by his devoted wife, Sherika Green; his aunt and second mother, Emma Mason (Roy Lee) of Emporia, Virginia; and his children, Janel Claiborne, Ziar Chambers, Diondre Green (Samatha), Diamante Green, Kajuan Green, Malachi Powell, Deontae Ampey, and Denasia Ampey. His beautiful grandchildren, Journee Claiborne, Jazyah Midgett, Demetric Green, and Jeremiah Green, also mourn his passing.
Octavius is remembered fondly by his extended family, including his mother-in-law, Bishop Linda Powell; father-in-law, Leon Powell; special parents, Wilbert and Ethel Moore; uncle, Alton ‘Clay’ Powell; aunts, Alice Parker, Rosa Brown, Nancy Jordan, Trisha Green; sisters, Shelia Rose, Sherell Pitts, Lekisha Williams, Swannetter Clements, Kimberly Robinson; brothers, Anthony Green, Randolph Wright, Ronald Wright, Dale Daniels, Kevin Parks, Randy Williams, Raphael Clements; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and his FedEx colleagues.
His life was guided by Pastor Dr. Orin Perry, Mother Mary Howell, Pastor Shon Speller, and the H.O.M. family, including special cousins Shawn Williams (Erica).
