Quinton Mason Obituary

QUINTON CONRAD MASON, a beloved husband, father, and friend, peacefully transitioned from this life to eternal rest on the morning of Saturday, March 29th, 2025, at the Canterbury Rehabilitation Healthcare Center in Richmond, Virginia. He was 74 years old. Quinton was born on June 13th, 1950, to John Roscoe and Rosie Jones Mason in Emporia, Virginia.

Quinton received his early education in the Greensville County School System and graduated from E. W. Wyatt High School. He continued his education at Virginia State College in Petersburg, Virginia. During his time in college, Quinton enlisted in the United States Army, where he served with honor and retired as a disabled veteran. Following his military service, Quinton pursued higher education at St. Leo College, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree.

On August 23rd, 1975, Quinton married the love of his life, Lucy, and together they were blessed with a son, Eric.

Quinton was deeply committed to his community, where he volunteered at the Community Youth Center in Emporia. He was a true sports enthusiast, regularly attending sporting events, and had a passion for reading and acquiring  

knowledge throughout his life. Quinton was known for his kindness, generosity, and warm spirit. His friendly nature and willingness to lend a helping hand made him a cherished member of his community, and he will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

Baptized as a child, Quinton attended church with his parents and was a devout individual throughout his life. He was the youngest of four brothers and was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosie Mason; his son, Eric Terrell Mason; and his brothers, John, Perry, and Tyrone Mason.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Lucy Mason; three nephews, Anthony Mason, Aaron Mason, and Tyrone Mason II; two nieces, Tamieka Mason and Larissa Mason; three sisters-in-law, Ethel Mason, Mamie Mason, and Deborah Urquhart; along with a host of cousins, relatives, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Quinton's life touched many, and his legacy of kindness, love, and service will continue to inspire those who knew him.
