Ramona Louise Speed Butts Lawson, daughter of the late Hartwell and Ada Speed, began her journey through life on Sunday, April 21, 1929 in Jarratt, Virginia.
Louise was educated in the Greensville County Public School System. Early in life, she united in marriage to George Edward Butts. As life progressed, she relocated to Baltimore, Maryland, where she united in Holy Matrimony to Norah Davis Lawson. For many years, she was employed with the National Security Agency (NSA); before retiring and returning to Jarratt, Virginia.
On Monday, September 12, 2022, after an extended period of illness, Louise peacefully departed this earthly life, while in the care of Greensville Health & Rehabilitation Center, Emporia, Virginia.
Louise is lovingly survived by: one daughter, Loretta Butts Carr; two grandsons, Joseph Carr, Jr. and Anthony Boone (son of the late Luke and Earlene Butts Boone); three greatgrandchildren, Joseph Carr, III, Jasmine Carr and Jordan Carr; one great, great-grandson, Billie Charles Davis, IV; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
