Rebecca Hicks Washington, affectionately known to all as "Sis" was born on January 19, 1931 in Greensville County, VA to the late Napoleon and Isabelle Arrington Hicks. She peacefully entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at her home. Rebecca was raised in Greensville County, VA and married Tommie Washington, who preceded he in death on November 4, 1946. She joined the Jerusalem Baptist Church at an early age and later joined New Birth Holiness Church, until her health prevented her. Rebecca enjoyed attending gospel singing and spending time with family and friends. Rebecca leaves to cherish in memory one son, Sandy Washington (Janet) of Conway, NC; four daughters, Lillian Hudson (William), Sally Vaughan (James), Angela Porter (Eugene) and Kaya Weaver all of Emporia, VA; one sister, Rosa Franklin (George) of Emporia, VA; one brother, Elmer Hicks of Lawrenceville, VA; one brother-in-law, Abraham Washington of New York; four sisters-in-law, Carrie Givens, Faye Washington, and Otelia Atkins all of Emporia, VA and Thelma Atkins of New York; nine grandchildren, Montrel Davis, Paula Goodrich, Lucy Hudson, Torri Morgan, Hosea Turner, Michael Turner, Tonia Washington, Yulanda Taylor and Titesha Vaughan; thirteen great Grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, a special cousin, Shirley Broady, special friend, Parry Bullock and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends,
