On Thursday, September 18, 2014 our Lord called WILLIE WADE CHAMBLISS home. "Sanky" as he was affectionately known to his family and friends was born on August 8, 1933 to the late James and Constance Malone Chambliss. Sanky worked on the docks in Elizabeth, NJ for 18 years. His next job was at the University of Medicine and Dentistry Hospital in Newark, NJ. He worked his way up to become Maintenance Engineer Supervisor. He remained on the job until he retired in 2000. He served as a Trustee, then Deacon and finally after being ordained on August 15, 1999, as an Associate Pastor at the Heggs Missionary Baptist Church in Newark, NJ. Rev. Chambliss was an Associate Pastor of the Claresville Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish in memory, his devoted wife, Mary Frances Chambliss; one sister, Barbara Smith of Emporia, VA; two daughters, Vanessa Pearson (Charlie) of Emporia, VA and Theresa Hunter of Bronx, NY; three sons, Willie Chambliss, Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL, Chris Chambliss of Bronx, NY and Wayne Chambliss of Waynesboro, GA; four step-children, Dwayne Thomas (Lael) of Emporia, VA, Fredrick Mincey (Carla) of Seattle, WA; Stephanie Owens (Jerry) of Upper Marlboro, MD and Melvin Mincey (Gloria) of Baltimore, MD; an attentive grandchild, Willie Wade Chambliss, III; ten other grandchildren; five brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
