Rosa Bullock Obituary

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.” ~ Matthew 11:28

Rosa I. Bullock, born on April 25th, 1951, in Emporia, VA, to the late Ada and Zeno Bullock, peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on Friday, October 18th, 2024. Rosa’s life was marked by her deep love for family and friends, her perseverance, and her dedication to helping others.

Raised in Emporia, she pursued her education by earning her G.E.D. Rosa began her professional journey with Riverside Cleaners before moving on to work at Vogue Cleaners. Her true calling, however, was in nursing. She embraced this career with passion and commitment, working as a nurse until her health began to decline.

Known affectionately as “Aunt Rosie” and “Grams” by her loved ones, Rosa was admired for her intelligence, bravery, and unconditional love for her family, especially her siblings and their children. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including watching court shows, Westerns, and Netflix.

In addition to her parents, Rosa was preceded in death by her brother, Carter Bullock, her aunt, Lula Mae Bullock, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Rosa’s memory will forever be cherished by her loving children: Renee Bullock, Antoinette Bullock (Craig), and Christopher Bullock (Telesa). She also leaves behind a legacy through her grandchildren: Deon Bullock (Mecca), Dominique Bullock (Crista), Willie-Roy Terry (Tiffany), Courtney Terry (Maurice), Tashay Bullock (Quentin), Semaj Porter, Janea’ Bullock (Malik), Shawnacy Giles, Christopher Bullock Jr., Christina Bullock, and Jadien Bullock, along with her great-grandchildren: Ashiya, Daveon, Jaiyana, Armoni, Damoni, Nylah, Shaniya, JaKhi, King, Sionn, Riley, Jayciona, Kinsley, and Khyson.

Her beloved siblings, whom she cherished dearly, include Dennis Bullock (Ruth), Velter Bullock, Mark Bullock (Ruth), Zeno Bullock (Zell), Steve Bullock (Terry), Bruce Bullock (Tina), and Beatrice Miles (Ron). Rosa is also survived by her cherished aunts/sisters Lucinda B. Weaver, Magdalene Bullock and Evelyn Powell , along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives who truly loved her including her dialysis family and friends.

Rosa’s strength, love, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
