Shanda Sumpter Carter. Our beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend was called to eternal rest at Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center on Saturday, December 13, 2014. Shanda was born on July 5, 1965 in Emporia, VA to Daniel Smith and Constance Sumpter Stowall. Shanda was educated in the Greensville County Public School System. Shanda had passion to assist those in need as she continued her education in the medical field. Shanda became a Certified Nurses Aide and later pursued a licensed Practical Nurse Certification. Shanda joined the Little Shiloh Baptist Church in Jarratt, VA at an early age. Shanda married her soul mate Willie L. Carter in 2002 and they lived happily together enjoying their favorite recreation of fishin until Willie passed in 2010. Shanda's love for her family was strong, and she leaves to cherish in memory, her mother, Constance Stowall, father Daniel Smith (Vivian) of Emporia, VA, two sons Joel Sumpter of Jarratt, VA and Tramaine Gillus of Norfolk, VA, two stepsons, Walee and Wakil Carter, one stepdaughter Keisha Smith, one brother, Justin Stowall (Ashley) of Iowa, one sister, Uranda Mason of Norfolk, VA, two grandchildren Alasia Dillard and Trinity Plum, ten step-grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friend.
