“Sad is the parting, no one can tell: So sudden on earth the sorrow fell,
The blow was hard, the shock severe; To part with one we love so dear
. Dearer still, as days depart; Our loved one’s memory will forever live within our hearts!”
SHAQUAN ALIQUE LEWIS, was born on Friday, May 14, 1993 in Emporia, Virginia to the parentage of Lamont Lewis and Nakisha Hardy.
‘Quan’, as he was affectionately known, was educated in the Greensville County Public School System. He was gainfully employed with Greensville Correctional Center, as a Sergeant, until his untimely passing. During his leisure time, he enjoyed traveling, playing video games and riding four-wheelers.
“Those we love remain with us, for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because a loved one’s gone. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart. For as long as there is memory, ‘Quan’ will live on in our hearts. A gift for such a little while, the loss just seems so wrong. He should not have left before us, It’s with loved ones where he belongs.” Treasured memories of pure love and affection will forever remain with: his wife Jessica Lewis of the home, parents, Lamont Lewis and Nakisha Hardy of Emporia, Virginia; sister, Tatianna Nicholson of Richmond, Virginia; special little cousin, Taniya Kee; aunt, Michelle Baker; uncles, Jermaine Lewis, Terrell Easter, Maceo Baker, Jr. and Danjae Jackson all of Emporia, Virginia; god-mother, Simone Thomas; mother-in-law, Gina Garner (Arthur) of Broadnax, Virginia; father-in-law, Carnell Meredith, Sr. (Helen) of McKenny, Virginia; sisters/brothers-in-laws, Trina Bixby (Codera) of Emporia, Virginia, Shabaka Crayton (Crystal) of Mckenney, Virginia, Isaiah Crayton (Jasmine) of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, Joy Moore (Antwoine) of Freeman, Virginia, Tiara Meredith of Colonial Height, Virginia, Ryan Adams of Charlotte, North Carolina, Alexus Meredith and Carnell Meredith, Jr. both of South Hill, Virginia, Carmel Meredith of McKenny, Virginia, Arnisha Garner of Broadnax, Virginia and Jasmine Meredith of Chase City, Virginia; a host nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. ‘Quan’ is now reunited with those loved ones who have preceded him in death, including: his grandfather, Roy Lee Lewis and his grandmothers, Willie Mae Easter and Delois Lewis.
