Obituary

On Sunday, October 8, 1950, life began for Sheila Marie Green, as she was born to the loving care of Annie Rose Peavy and the late Arthur Rose, in Jarratt, Virginia.

As life progressed, Sheila relocated to New York, where she was employed by the New York Telephone Company and Blue Cross & Blue Shield. In 1967, she met Alexander Lemon. They were married on June 28, 1969 and their union was blessed with four beautiful daughters. Sheila loved her girls and was so very proud of them. She would often smile and say, “Mama, that’s my girls”.

Sheila cheerfully expressed her love for Jehovah; and would often talk about Jehovah and the Good News of his Kingdom. She always read her bible - remaining faithful to him and her belief that one day she would be resurrected to everlasting life in Paradise.

In later years, Sheila returned to Virginia, where she met Wallace Green. They were united in matrimony on July 8, 1992. Sheila and Wallace shared many sweet moments together; as he was a devoted husband and friend, who never left her side.

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. (II Timothy 4: 7 -9) On the morning of Thursday, July 1, 2021; while in the serenity of her home, Sheila’s soul took flight from the world of pain, sin and sorrow, to a place of sweet eternal rest. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by: a daughter, Nicole Kim Lemon; brother, MacArthur Rose; uncles, Carlton Lundy and Robert Lundy.

Your life was full of loving deeds, forever thoughtful of our special needs. Today and tomorrow, our whole life through, we will always love and cherish you. Her sweet nature, caring heart and generosity will long be remembered by: her loving husband, Wallace Green of the home; daughters, Felicia Kim Taylor (Emmett) of Chester, Virginia, Alicia Williams (Mark) of Colonial Heights, Virginia and Shaneik Tazewell (Cory) of Jarratt, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Sgt.
