Stephen L. Richardson was born on March 28, 1941 to the late Earnest and Mamie Lynch Richardson in Emporia, VA. He was the youngest of nine children; seven preceded him in death He was educated in the Greensville County Public School System. He was a member of the Baltimore Baptist Church. During his years of employment he drove truck for several different companies: American Box Company, Whitehead Harding, Emporia Feed and Seed. His last position was sanitation truck driver for the City of Emporia. He leaves to cherish in memory his wife of 51 years, Carolyn; one daughter, Nellie R. Hill of Emporia, VA; one son, Stephen D. Richardson (Angela) of Decatur, AL; one devoted brother, Willie M. Richardson of Emporia, VA; two sisters-in-law, Peggy Richardson of Emporia, VA and Alice Burns of Hampton, VA; three grandchildren, Kelton Richardson of Huntsville, AL, Deaira Richardson of Huntsville, AL and Randy T. Hill of Greensboro, NC; one great grandchild, Jaylen Morgan of Huntsville, AL; one young man he thought a lot of Justin Stowall of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
