Steven Alvin Wright

On the evening of August 9, 2014 a beloved husband, father, grandfather and servant of God, STEVEN ALVIN WRIGHT was called home to rest. He was born on April 2, 1958 to Mary Wright. Steven was often described by others as a "Good Man." He provided for his family and often helped his friends in times of need. Steven was the honorable husband of Mrs. Althea W. Wright and an exceptional father to Patrice Wyche, Stephanie Wyche and Crystal W. Ruffin. Prior to starting his family Steven spent most of his childhood in Skippers, Virginia. Steven was educated through Greensville County Public School systems. He served as a dedicated employee of the Emporia Foundry for 28 years in which was a Laborer and utilized his welding skills. He joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Skippers, Virginia at an early age. Steven was also a member of the Magic Wheels Motorcycle Club in which he devoted much time and service to the community. Steven enjoyed fishing, gardening and talking about cars. Steven leaves to cherish his loving memories a beloved wife, Althea W. Wright; three daughters, Patrice Wyche (Fiancée Herbert Walker III) of McDonough, GA, Stephanie Wyche (Fiancée Michael Easter) of Alberta, VA and Crystal W. Ruffin (Rodney) of Hopewell, VA; his mother Mary Wright of Emporia, VA; two brothers, Johnnie Wright (Essie) of Emporia, VA and Douglas Wright of Hyattsville, MD; two sisters, Marion Wright of Lanham, MD and Tonya Ross (Beverly) of Varina, VA; three granddaughters, Brittany, Yasmine and Kourtney; one grandson, Michael Easter, Jr.; a mother-in-law, Joyce Wyche of Emporia, VA; father-in-law, Henry Wyche of Jarratt, VA; one brother-in-law, Ronnie Wyche of Dumfries, VA; two aunts, Maggie Wright of Emporia, VA and Leola Wright of Brooklyn, NY; special friends, Woodrow Hardy, Elonza Ferby, Sharon Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
