Vassie Scott was born to the late Junious and Ocie Moody Scott on March 24, 1945 in Gaston, NC. He departed this life peacefully on May 14, 2016 at Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center.
Vassie his life to Christ in his later years and became member of Pleasant Plain Baptist Church. He served faithfully on the #1 Men's Usher Board until his health began to decline. Vassie was employed by Scott Brothers Logging for 20+ years. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with loved ones and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Barbara J. Scott. He also leaves one daughter, Brenda Allen (Alexis); one step-daughter, Barbara Mallory; one step-son, Chester Mallory, Jr. all of Emporia, VA; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his siblings, Janice Rose of Skippers, VA, Junious Scott of Ohio and Randolph Scott of Emporia, VA; many cousins including a special cousin, Robert Moody, who was by his side until his final days a host of nieces, nephews and friends
Vassie was preceded in death by his parents, Ocie and Junious Scott; his siblings, Bonnie Williams, Mary Scott, James Scott, Edward Scott and Ernest Moody.
