Wayne Bernard Rawlings, son of the late Fitzhugh Rawlings and Mary Alice ‘Sis’ Powell Rawlings, was born on Monday, October 7, 1957 in Greensville County, Virginia.
Wayne was educated in the Greensville County Public School System. Early in life, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior; and united in Christian Fellowship with the Rocky Mount Baptist Church of Emporia, Virginia. Wayne had a love for fast cars and fishing - a hobby he developed from his mother and grandmother. He loved his family with all of his heart. Family meant everything to him. The bond he shared with his beloved mother was inseparable!
On Friday, August 12, 2022; our dear loved one transitioned from earthly life unto life eternal.
Wayne leaves to cherish many amazing memories: his son, Darlwin (Chandra) Lee, Sr. of Emporia, Virginia; his daughter, LaQuishia Williams of Richmond, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Lashay Lee, DaQuan Hunter, Asanti Hunter, Darlwin Lee, Jr., Waikiki Hunter, Bre’ansha Threatt and Derant Garrett all of Emporia, Virginia; eight great-grandchildren, Asan Hunter, Kamryn West, Arionna Peeples, Cali Hunter, Arion Peeples, Casydi’ Hunter, Ken’sire West, Azari Lee and Ariel Peeples; his sister, Roslyn Jones (Wayne) of Highland Springs, Virginia; a god son, whom he loved dearly, Terrence Jefferson of Brunswick, Virginia; two uncles, Calvin Rawlings (Willie Bea) and Andrew Jefferson (Evelyn); two aunts, Nannie Powell (John) and Linda Powell (James); one great-aunt, Catherine Claiborne; two devoted cousins, Thomas Jefferson and Joanne Greene; a host of other relatives and friends.
Relatives and Friends are encouraged to visit Mr. Rawlings' tribute wall to share memories, extend condolences and to order floral tributes, as sentiments to the family.
