Will Williams Obituary

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing. ~ II Timothy 4:7-8

Will McCoy Williams was born on Thursday, February 9th, 1956, to the late Thomas Hill and Mattie Hill. He peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 10th, 2025, at the age of 69, while in the compassionate care of Bon Secours Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, Virginia.

Will dedicated many years of his life to working as a logger, a profession that reflected his strength, resilience, and connection to the land. He was also an avid and loyal fan of the Washington Commanders, never missing an opportunity to cheer on his favorite team.

In addition to his beloved parents, Will was preceded in death by six brothers, whose memories he held dear.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his devoted daughter, Laquisha Williams; two brothers, Charlie Williams of Skippers, Virginia, and Samuel Hill (Sylvia) of Richmond, Virginia; two sisters, Martha Allen of Skippers, Virginia, and Helen Wilson (Earl) of Emporia, Virginia; one sister-in-law, Catherine Williams of Skippers, Virginia; and two aunts, Mable Harris and Ethel Wright.

He was also a grandfather at heart to three special grandchildren, and his memory will be fondly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Will’s presence, warmth, and quiet strength will be deeply missed, but the love he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Relatives and Friends are encouraged to visit Mr. Williams' tribute wall to share memories, extend condolences and to order floral tributes, as sentiments to the family.
