Memories are treasures no one can steal.
Death is the heartache nothing can heal.
Some may forget you now that you are gone,
But we shall remember you no matter how long.
WILLIAM L. WHITE, JR., 85, of Egg Harbor City, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4, 2024, under the compassionate care of Complete Care at Marcella in Burlington, New Jersey.
Born on January 20, 1939, in Emporia, Virginia, William was the beloved son of Ida Mae (Reaves) White and the late William L. White, Sr. He began his education in the Greensville County School System before serving his country with a brief tour of duty in Germany as part of the U.S. Army.
William believed in God; the father almighty, who created heaven and earth. He possessed strong faith in Christ and did not waiver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, always acknowledging his presence. He found great joy in reading, studying and teaching the word of God.
After returning from the Army, William pursued various careers, but his true calling was as a Certified Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Counselor, where he found his deepest passion in helping others. In his later years, he dedicated his time to serving his community as a Medical Transport Driver, ensuring that those in need had access to care.
William was preceded in death by his sister, Annie L. Crandoll, and his brothers, Roy L. White and Dolphas White.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his five children: Verna D. White of Charlotte, NC; Vernette White of Emporia, VA; Toni L. White of Mt. Holly, NJ; William L. White III of Mt. Holly, NJ; and Andre T. White of Easton, PA. He is also survived by his mother, Ida White; nine grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends who will remember him fondly.
William’s life was marked by his dedication to service, both in his professional work and his personal care for those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and Friends are encouraged to visit Mr. White's tribute wall to share memories, extend condolences and to order floral tributes, as sentiments to the family.
