Willie Jones

On Wednesday, June 1, 2016, the angels appeared at the Halifax Regional Medical Center and lifted Willie J. Jones from this world of sin, sorrow and pain to a place of eternal peace and rest.
Willie was born on January 26, 1929 to John Henry and Agnes Harrison Jones in Roanoke Rapids, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Debra Bennett, three brothers, Louis, Norman and Frank Jones.
At an early age, Willie was baptized and joined the First Baptist Church of Roanoke Rapids, NC
Willie worked forty five (45) years before retiring from Champion Internal Paper Company. He enjoyed raising gardens to provide fruits and vegetables for his family and the neighborhood.
Willie was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Susie High on October 5, 1955. This union was blessed with ten children. He was a hard working and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.
Life memories are left with his wife of sixty (60) years, Susie H. Jones; children, Mertikae (Sherman) Hill of Randallstown, MD, Donati (Vanessa) High of Emporia, VA, Willie Sue (Charles) Green of Swan Quarter, NC, Dexter (Vivian) Jones of Littleton, NC, Terrie (Sherman) Wilkins of Jarratt, VA, Terrance (LaKasia) Jones of Lake City, FL, Nolita (Alvin) Lundy of Roanoke Rapids, NC Lolita (Frank) McNair of Gaston, NC and Marcus (Erika) Jones of Enfield, NC; eighteen grandchildren, Latanya, Shannon, Yannah, Donati, Chad, Erica, Damien, Karma, Dedric, Travis, Jonathan, Brittney, Jasmine, Tasheena, Jamaria, Brandon, Marquis and MaKayla; seven sisters, Barbara (Charlie) Solomon, Mary Moore, Agnes Moody, Mandeline (Allen) Gilliam, Wilhemenia (Oliver) Jones, Annie (Maurice) Taylor and Nancy Plummer; nineteen great grandchildren; Kaela, Kaia, Harrison, Charleston, Leilani, Chase, Sanaa, Cyane, Kymoree, Brylynn,, Cali, Cazlyn, Cassi, Cannen, Madison, Jace, Miley, Damesha and Daja. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
