Willie Eugene Roberts

W. Eugene Roberts of Emporia, Virginia departed this life on Saturday, October 4, 2014 following a brief illness. Eugene was born on January 30,, 1949 to the late Willie Roberts, Jr. and Christine Allison Roberts. He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Al and Janet Roberts; two aunts, Rosie B. Caves and Lavonia E. Allison; two nephews, Ross (Cassandra) Roberts and Scott (Jennifer) Roberts; a niece, Lauren (Bryan)Roberts Haire; a devoted friend, Barbara Mason; and numerous cousins and countless friends. Eugene was a faithful member and lay minister at St. James Episcopal Church in Emporia, VA. He was a teacher, coach, and administrative assistant at Sussex Central High School, where he was employed for thirty-five years. His legacy of commitment to God, family, students, community, and friends will live on for generation. Memorial donation may be made to W.
